(docs): removing shell indicators

Description

This attempts to bring more consistency to the shell snippets to the documentation. Currently, there is a mix of copyable examples that include characters such as $, >, etc. This makes working with the docs a bit fussy.

I've tried to maintain a consistency throughout. If the entire thing could be copy/pasted and run in a terminal, I've removed the shell indicators. However, if they are part of a larger example, such as those showing the output I have left as-is.

Hopefully, this should make working with the docs a bit easier
