Mapping a contact group to Favorites

In fastmail you can mark a contact as Favorite/VIP. When DAVx syncs these contacts to android they are not marked as favorite and just appear as a "VIPs" contact group. It would be helpful if DAVx had an option to map a contact group to being marked as "Favorites" in system contacts.

Hi, the thing is that VCARD does not support favorite contacts, this is simply not defined in the standard. As such, there are multiple ways to set a contact as favorite depending on the client and server.

On Android, it is done through the X-STARRED property, but servers may not support it and/or use different methods.

So basically, Fastmail's approach is to add favorite contacts to the "VIPs" group, which is not the standard way to do so in Android. We can't handle all ways of setting contacts as favorites.

The "save favorite contacts" feature is requested from time to time and personally I would like it. Fun fact: syncing of whether a contact is starred was done in a very early version of DAVx5, but we had to take it out because it caused problems: People can have shared address books, but "star" different contacts.

So such a feature would probably require further configuration / settings / methods to support it. And at the moment it becomes complicated …
